What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. "Similar technologies" include browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) and scripts that collect information about how you use a page. Cookies can be "first-party" (set by the site you are visiting) or "third-party" (set by another company's domain).
Our Approach
- We use first-party cookies only for sign-in, security, and remembering your display choices.
- We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party advertising pixels, and we do not sell or share cookie data for targeted advertising.
- Our analytics tool is self-hosted on our own domain and is designed to work without cookies (see Analytics).

Analytics
We run our own instance of Umami, an open-source analytics tool, at stats.travelbreeze.com. Umami does not set cookies to identify you. It records pages viewed, referrers, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. When you are signed in, we link this activity to your account. On our production site, Umami also records session replays and heatmaps, which reconstruct clicks, scrolling, and page content during a visit so we can fix usability problems. Because Umami is self-hosted, this data is not shared with an analytics company.
Public advisor profile pages also record visit statistics in our own database (see the Privacy Policy).
Third-Party Services
Some features load content from other companies. Those companies may set their own cookies or receive your IP address under their own privacy policies:

Your Choices
- Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and site data. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in or open shared trip pages.
- Global Privacy Control: We do not sell or share data for targeted advertising, so no opt-out is needed. If that changes, we will honor GPC signals.
- Do Not Track: See our Privacy Policy.
Changes
We will update this policy when we change the cookies or technologies we use and update the "Last updated" date above.
